Contrary to popular misconception, you do not need to be related to a Mason to join the fraternity, nor do you need to be invited. In fact, Freemasonry holds that a man must seek admission of his own will and accord.

The basic requirements for membership in Massachusetts are that you are a man 18 years of age or older, of good standing in your community, who believes in a Supreme Being.

The first step towards becoming a Freemason is to ask a friend or relative who is a Mason for more information. If you do not know any Masons personally, that's OK - just contact us (or locate another lodge near you) and a Brother will be happy to meet you at the lodge, give you more information and answer questions you might have.
